Hearing Loss Association of America – Central Oklahoma Chapter Meeting – Day Group

Day Group: (Monthly) Third Thursday
We had a great meeting on Thursday. We had a large group of members as well as a couple of visitors to hear Dr. Sara Neumann, an audiologist with Hearts for Hearing. Sara is a very informative speaker with a very compassionate heart.
She has made 2 trips to Vietnam with an organization dedicated to improving hearing for children without the resources we have here in the USA. Several com-panies donate hearing aids to be given to children but they really need help to train the few audiologists there to work with the children to get the best results with the hearing aids. It was a very interesting but heart-wrenching talk. Sara also brought pictures which gave us a better idea of what is being accomplished. We are still in the process of securing a speaker for February. More details to follow by email. Dr. R. Kent Dyer, with the Hough Ear Institute will be speaking in March. Enjoy our nice weather (at least for the moment) and we will look forward to seeing each of you on February 16!
