Hearing Loss Association of America – Central Oklahoma Chapter Meeting

We had a nice turnout for our January meeting. Vincent Wood and Gabe Garfield from the National Weather Center gave a very informative presentation about weather safety here in Oklahoma. To learn more about weather safety tips go to www.weather.gov/safety. This link gives a wealth of information on many kinds of weather safety tips and resources.
I am super excited about the February 13th meeting. Ana Covey has been at-tending the night group for several months. She recently agreed to be the vice president of the night group. Ana will give us a presentation about Looping Okla-homa which is something our Chapter has been very interested in over the years.
If you have a chance before the meeting, call your audiologist to ask him or her if you have the telecoil option on your hearing aids or cochlear implant. The tele-coil is necessary if you want to access any type of looping system. Ana will give a more detailed explanation on how a telecoil works and why having the option on your technology is beneficial. if you have a special treat you want to bring to share with the group, please feel free to do so.
