Becky Young, Certified Shorthand Reporter, Registered Professional Reporter, Registered CART Provider, Registered CART Provider-Master, Certified Legal Video Specialist. Becky graduated from the court reporting program at Brown Mackie Business College in Kansas and moved to Oklahoma City in 1978 to start her career as an official court reporter in state court. After more than 12 years working as an official reporter, Becky then began working as a freelance reporter, while raising three daughters, along with her husband, Ken. She owned and ran a court reporting and videography office in downtown Oklahoma City and starting providing CART services in 2006. During her 40-year career, Becky has been involved in state and national associations in various positions and has focused much effort on the testing and examination of reporters, including a five-year term on the Oklahoma Board of Certified Shorthand Reporters. She begins a two-year Director position with the National Verbatim Reporters Association in 2018. Since 2016, Becky has been strictly providing CART captioning and is transitioning to the name of Total Access Captioning, to more accurately reflect the company’s services. The company employs other reporters to caption a variety of classes and live events in Oklahoma and across the country.
Ken Young, Certified Legal Video Specialist. With a degree in accounting and an extensive background in insurance, Ken joined the company in 2012, providing accounting and videography services. He received his CLVS certificate from the National Court Reporter’s Association in 2013. Continuing the company’s philosophy and goal of “Focusing on Service to Others,” Ken attended hearing loop systems training with Contacta in 2015. After over 30 years of marriage, three children, five grandchildren and counting, Ken and Becky still enjoy each other’s company and like working together!
I’m impressed with the CART services because it allows me to understand correctly what the professor is saying based on reading the notes during lecture. It is convenient for me to use the services from the lecture. (more…)
I work at a major university and have used captionists in the past. Unfortunately, much of what was produced was not high enough quality for the students—the captionist was getting the simple part of the lecture. (more…)
